It was a night of fights filled with broken bones and knockouts. At least this broken leg wasn’t due to a fighters ego. Check it out if you still have yet to see it.

Josh Koscheck Defeats Yoshiyuki Yoshida with First Round KO

December 10, 2008 · Filed Under Fight for the Troops, Recap, UFC · Comment

Josh Koscheck defeated Yoshida in the first round at Wednesdays Fight for the Troops with a huge first round KO.

The fight was fully standing and at 2:15 in the first round Koscheck connected, and it was a good connection too. Yoshida was clearly out of it on his feet but Koscheck threw in one more punch just to put Yoshida into lights out mode.

Josh Koscheck definitely impressed the troops who came out to see the event, he even impressed me. Once again Koscheck is another fighter that will be climbing back up that welterweight ladder since his recent drop after his loss to Alves less than two months ago.

Mike “Quick” Swick Lives up to his Name at UFN 16

December 10, 2008 · Filed Under Fight for the Troops, Recap, UFC · Comment

Mike Swick lived up to his nickname, “Quick” Wednesday night in a fight against Jonathan Goulet. The fight was part of the UFC’s Fight for the Troops.

Jonathan Goulet was dropped to the mat really quick and it was only a short amount of time after that when the referee stopped the fight due to (T)KO. Official ending time was at 33 seconds into the first round.

With a fight that has been brewing for almost a year with trash-talking from both fighters I did expect it to last a bit longer. I also wanted to see Goulet win the fight but I guess Swick was the better fighter on the night and will move himself up the welterweight ladder because of it.

UFC VIP Experience Explained by Dana White

November 25, 2008 · Filed Under Fight for the Troops, UFC, Video · Comment

UFC® VIP EXPERIENCE

This is your chance to bid on a once-in-a-lifetime UFC® experience.

Here’s how it works:

We’ll fly you and a guest to a UFC® fight card featuring your favorite fighter and put you up in our hotel. Once you hit town, you’ll have dinner with Dana White, Playboy Cover Girl Rachelle Leah, and some UFC® greats.

Then, you’ll be with your favorite fighter all weekend, from special access at the weigh-ins to unprecedented access on fight night. You’ll be spending time in the locker room as your fighter gets ready for his bout, and you’ll walk out to the Octagon as a member of his entourage. You’ll join his camp in his corner, and, should he win, you’ll be celebrating inside the Octagon alongside him.

This is a once in a lifetime chance, so bid what you can because it’s all for an amazing cause- the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Our goal is to raise money to build a state of the art facility dedicated to treating soldiers with traumatic brain injury and other psychological health issues.

Good luck and thanks.
