Miguel Torres Defeats Manny Tapia Via Second Round TKO
As expected by a large amount of people Miguel Torres retained his championship belt and improved his MMA record to 35-1.
The first round of the fight was fairly even between the two fighters with Manny Tapia ending it on a good note. But as soon as the second round started Miguel Torres turned into the fighter we expected to see. It took two knockdowns on the side of Torres to finally get Tapia into a defeat-able position. The bout ended 3:04 into the second round when referee Yves Lavigne stepped in and stopped the action ruling Miguel Torres victorious via (T)KO.
This was the third successful Bantamweight Title defense from the 27-year-old Miguel Torres who has been fighting professionally since his teen years. Torres gave Tapia his first professional loss.
