Dana White: Kimbo Slice Vs. Ken Shamrock
Above video is an interview with UFC President Dana White. He shares his thoughts on EliteXC’s Kimbo Slice Vs. Ken Shamrock fight. He basically goes on to say that Shamrock is too old and Kimbo is a bad fighter so Shamrock will take the fight.
Ken Shamrock to Shut Everyone Up
“That is absolutely what this (fight) is. I’m absolutely taking it as an insult, and I’m going to smash it back in their face. All I’ve got to say is that I apologize for my last couple of performances. I have no excuses. On October 4, I will shut everybody up and make amends for those [defeats] by putting Kimbo’s lights out. When you fight a guy like Kimbo, experience is irrelevant. I’m not walking in thinking I’m smarter than him or that I’m going to outskill him. I’m going back to the old Ken Shamrock. I’m going to beat you down and ask questions later. I don’t respect his power. The only time he’s knocked anyone out is when they were tired. At this point, I have no respect for him at all. I’m going in there to whip his ass.”
The above quote comes from Ken Shamrock during a teleconference trying to promote the next EliteXC on CBS event “Heat.” Ken Shamrock wil be facing off against one of the most well known MMA fighters in North America, Kimbo Slice. Kimbo’s performances are never spectacular and he has yet to face off against another recognisable heavyweight fighter but he still brings in massive amounts of viewers. Kimbo is currently favorite in the fight at -450 on BetUS with Shamrock at +275.

Here is the EliteXC promo for the upcoming October 4th event between Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock.
Ken Shamrock Plans on Breaking Kimbo’s Leg
“Honestly, I think I can test him anywhere. He’s got big, heavy hands. Everyone says he punches hard and he probably does. But again, he doesn’t punch properly, in my opinion. He swings his hands, he moves his body back and forth trying to get as much power as he can, but there’s really no snap behind it. You can usually see the punches coming. I’m going to do what I need to do. If it goes to the ground, I’ll probably break his leg. I mean, no question. I will break his leg. If he gives it to me, I’m going to break it.”
MMA legend Ken Shamrock told the above to Sherdog.com earlier today. Shamrock plans to go after a weakness in Kimbo Slice, his legs. Ken Shamrock has had his fair share of fights and 26 wins coming from them. Of those 26 wins “The Worlds Most Dangerous Man” ended them early 22 of those endings from submissions. At least Kimbo’s trainer Bas Rutten has had experience with leg locks from Shamrock, losing twice to them.
Brett Rogers Statement on Kimbo Vs Shamrock
Brett Rogers along with Team Bison love releasing open letters to the media to address their concerns about Kimbo Slice. It happened a few months ago after Kimbo’s opening CBS bout with James Thompson here. Now Rogers returns with a second letter stating his disappointment at being bypassed again and his fight with Kimbo going to Ken Shamrock.
Heres the letter. Check it out and leave us your thoughts in the comment section. Be warned though, it’s a long letter.
On behalf of Brett Rogers and the Team Bison Camp -
We are getting a lot of requests for interviews concerning the recently announced Shamrock vs. Slice match up. I believe many people are looking for us to be upset and join the pig pile on EliteXC. Well, people have to keep on looking.
Brett has two words tattooed on his arms: one is success and the other is patience. We of course would like to fight Kimbo here and now. We would like to fight him today. We would love to fight a legend like Shamrock as well. We would also like to fight for the title. There is no doubt we will get to do all three; we just need to have patience and then we will have success.
As for Elite – this is our home. We are excited to be part of Elite, CBS and Showtime. We are proud to be part of one of fastest-growing and best backed promotions in the world. We are proud to be part of a show that treats their fighters with love and respect and is not afraid to let their fighters compete outside the boundaries. Elite is also not afraid to give fighters the opportunity to develop and grow as athletes and entertainers. Elite has a growing network of mid-level and developmental shows that are bringing up true up-and-coming talent that will provide the bedrock of the sport for a long time to come.
I know a lot of people want to dog on Elite; but these same people would have an MMA world where no more then a dozen guys were making a living wage. People who think the real world should run just like it does on their PlayStation. But this is a complicated, difficult business for every side of the equation. For the fighters, promoters and everyone else involved. As a camp we have to negotiate, posture, bully, push, plead to get our share of the love. But at the end of the day we are Elite.
As for Oct 4th; that was our spot. Shamrock with his name and giant ego butted in line to get a slice of Kevin. At 103 years of age Ken usurped our rightful place against the YouTube champ. Our sincerest hope is that Ken whips Kimbo and then we can finally euthanize the “World’s Most Dangerous Man” and relegate him to some MMA dinosaur exhibit. Maybe taxidermy him and Severn and place them on a rotating pedestal where they can endless circle each other.
If Ken proves to be more sham then rock and Fergi beats him, then the Slice hype grows even greater. Dude is already more myth then Sasquatch, Chupacabra and a fucking unicorn combined. Kevin is the black Yeti.
Caught between a Shamrock and a hard place, Kevin has chosen the old over the new; the past over the future. But Fergi… the hard place is coming. By putting us off, making us wait will only make matters worse. There is nothing business about it anymore. Kimbo made it a point to go frontin’ to our boys at Big Black. But that street thug B.S. might work well with the fan bois and the Internet dorks who think your street cred means something; but Son… Brett comes from Cabrini Green; the worst 12 blocks of America. Compared to that your street is Sesame Street. So you can say it is very personal between Brett and Fergi. So go ahead and make us wait while you fight Tank and Shamrock. Hell, why not fight Hackney, Harold Howard, Fred Ettish and the rest of Jurassic MMA? And while your shuckin’ and duckin’ we will be hustlin’ and muscilin’ and when the bell finally tolls the only real question left is … do you wake up looking at canvas or arena lights?

Kimbo Slice to Fight Ken Shamrock
This October 4th at the 3rd EliteXC on CBS ratings machine Kimbo Slice will step into the cage to face 44-year-old Ken Shamrock.
For some reason the EliteXC matchmaking team still feel the need to put Kimbo up against some soft opponents. Ken Shamrock has gone four years now without winning a fight. Why did the EliteXC not put Kimbo up against someone like Brett Rogers who has wanted to fight Kimbo since the EliteXC network debut. Or how about Sean Gannon who has been the only man to defeat Kimbo Slice in their Youtube.com brawl.
Ken Shamrocks most recent fight was at Cage Rage 25 where he lost to Robert “Buzz” Berry by a knockout. So if Shamrock is getting knocked out by Berry what sort of an advantage does this give Kimbo Slice? A big one. Infact the only way Shamrock would have a chance defeating Kimbo would be a submission. The submission should be highly unlikely though after Kimbo’s dismal performance against James Thompson he has probably been spending more time on his ground game.
The fight will be this October 4th on CBS Saturday Night Fights.
Want to know where Kimbo gets his MMA Gear from?
Berry and Esch Likely for Cage Rage

Robert Berry coming out of the knockout he got on Ken Shamrock will likely fight the 400 pound Eric Esch at Cage Rage 27 in July.
Berry KO’d Ken Shamrock last month at Cage Rage 25 last month. The win brought a close to his two fight losing streak and was noted ash his biggest career win to date.
Meanwhile Esch lost his latest fight against Pat Smith at the Yamma Pit Fighting debut putting him on a losing streak of three. If the fight is to go on this would be his 4th fight at Cage Rage and I would expect to see him KO’d once more.
[Thanks, MMAonTap]
