As with almost every event the UFC has some medical suspensions from UFC 87. This time around though it didn’t seem to be as many. Maybe the Minnesota Combative Sports Commission is a bit more lenient on the suspensions. All-in-all four fighters ended up being suspended for 30-day periods. Suspended fighters include Georges St. Pierre, Jon Fitch, Ryan Thomas who are all out due to cuts and Dan Evensen was also suspended for 30 days due to the KO he recieved.

Anthony JohnsonThis past weekend the UFC held ‘Fight Night 14′ a direct competitor to Afflictions debut show. The UFC had it’s fair share of medical suspensions to go along with the show. There were 13 in total.

4 of the fighters, Cain Velasquez, Anthony Johnson, Brad Blackburn and Tim Credeur will be out for an extended amount of time. All 4 of the fighters will need to be cleared by a doctor before they can get scheduled for another fight.

The most controversial of the injuries is the one that Anthony Johnson received. He was poked in the eye by Kevin Burns during the third round of a fight he seemed to be winning. The referee ruled the fight in the favor of Kevin Burns without giving Anthony Johnson time to recover. Anthony Johnson will be appealing the decision.
