Chuck Liddell Will Kill Tito Ortiz

Chuck Liddell clearly got pissed off by the remarks that Tito Ortiz made in regards to Liddell’s alcoholism.

Chuck Liddell Wants Four More Fights in the UFC

January 26, 2010 · Filed Under UFC · Comment

He has yet to make his return to the UFC but already Chuck Liddell believes he will be getting a title fight in his fourth fight back.

I miss fighting and I want to fight, so that’s what I’m doing. I’ll keep arguing and (White) will keep arguing with me. I just have to show him that I can perform. I would like another fight and then I want another fight after. Hopefully, Dana’s happy with my two wins and I get a shot at a contender and then a shot at a title. That’s four fights and that’s about as far forward as I’ve thought. I have to go out on my own, the way I want to go out. It has to be my decision. I’m not going to let fans or people that aren’t that close to me and don’t watch me train, don’t see what I can still do, make that decision for me.”

The fight against Tito Ortiz would be Chuck Liddell’s last fight under a UFC contract. I am thinking that if Liddell loses this fight he probably not be re-signed which could be a bad thing for the UFC as I am sure Liddell would have no issue going to fight for UFC rival, Strikeforce. If Liddell was to win against Ortiz the question would then turn into who he would fight. He is not a top flight contender because he was defeated by Evans and Rua. Potential opponents could be Rampage if he was to lose to Evans and the loser of Coleman/Couture.

“Tito Ortiz Will Retire in the UFC” – Dana White

July 31, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comment

“Tito Ortiz will retire in the UFC,” those were the words from UFC President Dana White just a few moments ago in his press conference. After a war of words that lasted a great deal of time between the UFC President and the star fighter it was time for him to call it a day. Ortiz left the UFC and during his time off had back surgery and even tried his hand at commentating, which he should never do again.

During the press conference Ortiz took to the podium and mentioned that White had apologized and also claimed he is financially sound which I guess is his apology for all the underpaid comments years back.

The reason Ortiz didn’t sign with Strikeforce? “If if fought in Strikeforce, who would I fight? I have no more pain in my legs, no more numbness. It’s about competition.”

Ortiz plans his return to the Octagon under trainer Freddie Roach by the end of the year. Dana White commented that Tito Ortiz is bound to have “ring rust” so a fight against Mark Coleman is in order.

Tito Ortiz Vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral @ Affliction 2

July 29, 2008 · Filed Under Affliction · Comment

It was mentioned by Babalu in a post event press conference that he would like to take on Tito Ortiz. That should be happening at Afflictions next show this October 11th. The fight between Ortiz and Babalu is expected to be a co-main event with the recently believed fight between Fedor and Arlovski. Due to a no contact clause between Ortiz and the UFC he has been disallowed contact for the last 60 days. The official announcement is expected August 6th in a press conference by Tom Atencio.
