Michael Bisping Praises Henderson’s UFC 100 KO Victory
“I honestly don’t know what happened to me out there. I will just have to accept what the organizers say in their rules about when I fight next and take it on the chin. But I do know that I have the ability to bounce right back and succeed in my aim of lifting the world title. Henderson won it fair and square and I have nothing but praise for him. I have seen people like my training partner ‘Rampage’ Jackson lose fights in one or two rounds and still go on to become one of the best light-heavyweight fighters of them all, so I am not disheartened in any way.”
Michael Bisping changed his tone of voice with UK news publication Daily Star giving his opponent on Saturday night “praise.” Before the fight between Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping at UFC 100, Bisping was basically shit talking his way to a beating. He claimed he could out-wrestle a former Olympian wrestler and that ultimately the former PRIDE middleweight champion possessed no skills to defeat him.
Henderson Should be Fined for the Additional Hit on Bisping
Dan Henderson tonight brought an end to Michael Bispings run in the middleweight division with a stunning KO in the second round. The problem is the whole world could of seen that Bisping was out while falling and it became clear in the interview with Rogan that even Henderson knew. Knowing his opponent was out didn’t stop Henderson from leaving the ground and dropping a huge punch to the already unconcious Bisping.
After the fight Henderson was asked by Rogan, “did you know he was out before you landed that one?” After a quick snigger Henderson replied:
“Normally I’m not that way in fights, I know if the guys out and I tend to stop. I knew I hit him out and I think that one was just to shut him up a bit. “
The bolded section of the reply above is something Henderson should not have said. He admitted to throwing that extra shot, a shot that was clearly not needed. I believe that Henderson should be fined a fair amount would be $25,000 just like Babalu was fined for not releasing a choke at UFC 74. It really is on the same scale. Henderson had time to react and he chose to react the wrong way and then even admit it with a little snigger after the fight. I am curious to hear other thoughts on this so leave a comment.
