UFC: Anthony Johnson Appealing Decision
Anthony Johnson (5-2) has confirmed that he will be appealing the technical knockout decision opponent Kevin Burns was awarded in last Saturdays UFC Fight Night 14. The fight appealing will go through the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). After receiving a poke to the eye Anthony Johnson started to fall back screaming in pain. The referee believed that Johnson was hit with an uppercut thrown seconds after the eye poke. A decision was made by the referee and Kevin Burns was awarded the fight by (T)KO.
After watching the replay several times all the fans in the building and watching at home could clearly see the uppercut never connected and it was the eye poke that made Johnson drop to the ground. Johnson was not given the usual five minutes to recover.

I am thoroughly disgusted by that decision. I believe the UFC officials need to overturn the judges decision. Mr. Johnson conducted himself professionally exemplifying the professionalism that the UFC promotes. Therefore, the UFC needs to follow his lead on the high-road and overturn that despicable judgment. This decision causes me to lose faith in the forerunners of MMA. Once again, the black athlete has to work twice as hard to get a fair and equitable decision.
